Cancellation & Refund Policy for- “Loccal”

1. Our Payment Model: Authorize and Capture

Loccal is committed to a fair and transparent payment process. When a Customer makes a booking, their payment method is pre-authorized for the total service amount, placing a temporary hold on the funds. The payment is only captured (charged) after the Expert has successfully marked the job as "Completed" in the Loccal app. This policy outlines how we handle the release of this authorization or the refund of a captured charge in the event of a cancellation.

2. Customer-Initiated Cancellations

Customers may cancel a booked service directly through the "My Bookings" section of the Loccal app. The following terms apply:

Free Cancellation Period: A Customer may cancel a booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled service start time. In this event, the full pre-authorization hold on their payment method will be released.

Late Cancellation by Customer: If a Customer cancels a booking less than 24 hours before the scheduled service start time, they may be charged a Late Cancellation Fee. This fee is a percentage of the total service cost and is designed to compensate the Expert for their lost time and booking slot. This fee, if applicable, will be captured from the pre-authorized amount, and the remainder of the hold will be released.

3. Expert-Initiated Cancellations

If an Expert cancels a booking at any time for any reason:

  • The Customer will receive a 100% full return of all funds.
  • The pre-authorization hold on the Customer's payment method will be immediately and fully released.
  • No fees of any kind will be charged to the Customer.

4. No Refunds After Service Completion

Once a service has been marked as "Completed" by an Expert and the payment has been captured, the service is considered rendered and is strictly non-refundable.
Any disputes or claims regarding the quality or completeness of a service must be directed to our support team via the "Help & Feedback" section in the app. BITDEGREE may, at its sole discretion, offer a partial or full credit for future services to resolve a dispute, but this will not constitute a refund of the original payment.

5. How to Cancel

All cancellations must be initiated through the Loccal app. To cancel a booking, navigate to the "My Bookings" tab, select the relevant booking, and follow the cancellation prompts. Emails or other forms of communication are not considered a valid method for cancellation.
