Cancellation & Refund Policy for Loccal
Effective Date: April 26, 2026
1. Our Payment Model
Loccal facilitates connections between Customers and Experts. All payments for services are facilitated directly between Customers and Experts via Interac e-Transfer. BITDEGREE does not process these payments, hold funds, or act as an intermediary for financial transactions.
2. Customer-Initiated Cancellations
Customers may cancel a booked service directly through the "My Bookings" section of the Loccal app. The following terms apply:
- Free Cancellation Period: A Customer may cancel a booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled service start time.
- Late Cancellation: If a Customer cancels a booking less than 24 hours before the scheduled service start time, they may be liable for a cancellation fee. This fee is determined by the individual Expert’s policy to compensate them for lost time and a reserved booking slot.
3. Expert-Initiated Cancellations
If an Expert cancels a booking at any time for any reason:
- The Customer is under no obligation to pay any fees.
- If a payment has already been sent, the Expert is responsible for returning the funds to the Customer immediately.
4. No Refunds After Service Completion
Once a service has been marked as "Completed" by an Expert, the service is considered rendered and is strictly non-refundable through the Loccal platform. Any disputes regarding the quality or completeness of a service must be resolved directly between the Customer and the Expert. BITDEGREE is not responsible for issuing refunds or mediating disputes regarding service quality.
5. How to Cancel
All cancellations must be managed through the in-app chat or the "My Bookings" section of the Loccal app. Emails or other forms of communication outside of the Loccal Platform are not officially recognized for cancellation purposes.
