Terms of Service for Loccal
Effective Date: April 26, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity ("you") and BITDEGREE ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), concerning your access to and use of the Loccal mobile application as well as any other media form, mobile application related, linked, or otherwise connected thereto (collectively, the "Platform").
You agree that by accessing the Platform, you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all of these Terms of Service. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ALL OF THESE TERMS OF SERVICE, THEN YOU ARE EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED FROM USING THE PLATFORM AND YOU MUST DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY.
2. The Platform is a Venue
You acknowledge that the Platform provides a venue for connecting customers seeking to obtain home services ("Customers") and independent service provider professionals ("Experts"). We are a neutral facilitator and not a direct service provider, employer, or general contractor. We are not involved in the actual transactions between Customers and Experts. As a result, the quality, safety, or legality of the services provided, and the truth or accuracy of listings are the sole responsibility of each user.
3. Payments via Interac e-Transfer
All payments for services are facilitated directly between Customers and Experts via Interac e-Transfer. BITDEGREE does not process payments or hold funds. Customers are responsible for ensuring that the full service amount is sent to the Expert via e-Transfer upon completion of the service.
4. Platform Fees
BITDEGREE may charge a Platform Fee for the use of our matching services. Instructions for the payment of this fee (if applicable) will be provided at the time of booking.
5. Cancellations
All bookings are subject to our Cancellation Policy. Since payments are handled directly between users, Loccal cannot issue refunds. Cancellations must be managed via the in-app chat. Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled service start time may be subject to fees as agreed upon between the Customer and the Expert.
6. User Obligations
You represent and warrant that:
- All registration information you submit is true, accurate, current, and complete.
- You have the legal capacity and you agree to comply with these Terms of Service.
- You will not access the Platform through automated or non-human means (bots, scripts, etc.).
- You will not circumvent platform fees or engage in off-platform payment arrangements.
- You acknowledge that BITDEGREE does not conduct background checks on Experts and that you are solely responsible for your conduct and the quality of your services.
7. Intellectual Property & Termination
The Platform and its content (source code, databases, software, designs, text, and logos) are the proprietary property of BITDEGREE. We reserve the right to deny access to any person for any reason, without notice or liability.
8. Disclaimer
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN AS-IS AND AS-AVAILABLE BASIS. YOU AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM AND OUR SERVICES WILL BE AT YOUR SOLE RISK.
We make no warranties or representations about the accuracy or completeness of the Platform's content or the content of any websites linked to the Platform and we will assume no liability or responsibility for any:
- Errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of content.
- Personal injury or property damage resulting from your access to and use of the Platform.
- Any bugs, viruses, or the like which may be transmitted to or through the Platform by any third party.
9. Modifications and Interruptions
We reserve the right to change, modify, or remove the contents of the Platform at any time at our sole discretion without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, price change, suspension, or discontinuance of the Platform.
